Users, Roles, and Permissioning
Role Types
Rally offers four types of roles that you can assign to users, granting them specific permissions within the platform. Here are the role types and their associated permissions:
Ops Managers:
Ops Managers are the equivalent to a typical Admin role. They are paid seats that can create studies, panels, add people and perform all read and write permissions including modifying some advanced workspace settings
- Ops Managers do have access to modify the following Workspace configuration settings:
- Account Settings
- Branding Settings
- Domain Settings
- Property Settings
- Document Settings
- Email, Question, Consent templates
- Ops Managers do not have access to modify the following Workspace configuration settings:
- Users & Roles
- Billing
Researchers
Researchers can be anyone planning to conduct and manage studies. They are paid seats that can create studies, panels, add people to Rally.
Researchers have some read and write permissions but can't edit sensitive workspace settings.
Researchers do have access to modify the following workspace configuration settings:
- Property Settings
- Document Settings
- Email, Question, Consent templates
Researchers do not have access to modify the following workspace configuration settings:
- Account Settings
- Users & Roles
- Billing
- Domain Settings
- Branding Settings
- Governance Settings
Observers
The Observer role is great for any stakeholder who want to stay engaged in research activities without actively managing studies within Rally
Observers are free seats that have read only permissions in Rally.
- Sync their calendars and share their general availability to be included in the scheduling of interviews
- View components of a study within study builder
- View study overviews including participants responses to screeners and surveys and upcoming interviews
- View participants and their profiles throughout studies, panels and in the CRM
Super Admin
Super Admin is an additional permission set that can be added to any user role. Super Admins can perform all read and write permissions including all workspace settings. Super Admins can also access and modify studies that they do not own.
Super Admins do have access to modify all workspace configuration settings
